Dj GUI was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His DJ career began 10 years ago when he first encountered acid house and projects such as New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Bomb The Bass, Kraftwerk , In addition, numerous psychedelic rock bands such as The Doors, The Grateful Dead, and Led Zeppelin also inspired him a lot.

In 1990, GUI began playing acid house in parties organised in his hometown. His first contact with psytrance occured in 1997, when he attended the famous Trancoso summer parties in Brazil, promoted by dj Max Lanfranconi or Raja Ram. Several experiences in Trancoso convinced him to start promoting the “Psicotrance Club” events in his native city and in all summer in south of bahia (arraial d ajuda), where he played as a resident.

Dj GUI also worked as resident for the Club Hype from 2000 to 2001, the PILL BOX Club in 2002 and URBANA club in 2003. Co-producer and resident of the CACHOEIRA ALTA DANCE FESTIVAL in 2004/2005/2006/2007 (www.cachoeiraaltafestival.com.br). Dj GUI also participated to the organisation of EARTH DANCE festival-Brazil in 2001, 2002 and 2003, ISLANDANCE festival in 2004, "Caminho das nuvens bancas festival 2000/2001/2002 as well as all the festivals and parties of the Trancoso summer from 2001 to present days.

Over the last 7 years, his djing activities conducted him to appear at many events through the whole country and across the globe: SOLARIS DANCE FESTIVAL (SP), TRANCEFORMATION (GO), UNIVERSO PARALELLO (BA), EARTH DANCE, CACHOEIRA ALTA DANCE FESTIVAL (MG), SOUTH ORBIT (PR), ISLANDANCE (RIO DE JANEIRO), SUN VIBE (MG), SAMSARA FESTIVAL, SOUL VISION (sp),CHEMICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL, ENIGMA (MG), CAMINHO DAS NUVENS BRANCAS (MG), MYSTIC FESTIVAL (MG), CREAMFIELDS BRAZIL (BH),CIRCO ELETRONICO,(Circo voador/RIO DE JANEIRO), INFECTED MUSHROON BH , PSICOTRANCE, PLAYGROUND, FREAK NATION, CHEMICAL CREW label party, INSIGHT, and many more.... He was also invited to participate to numerous label parties in the country with the CHEMICAL CREW, CRYSTAL MATRIX, COMPACT , ENZYME, TIP WORLD, HOMMEGA and more...

His musical orientation is deeply influenced by different genres such as progressive rock, electro, old school and anything containing what can be qualified as “funky psychedelic sounds”! DJ GUI plays very powerfull sets packed with energy, boosted by powerfull basslines transporting high-tech sounds! GUI has played aside many well known acts such as Astrix, GMS, Infected Mushroon, Ateam, Painkiler, Bliss, Azax Syndrom, Sesto Sento, Shift, Shanti, Logic Bomb, Tristan, Raja Ram, Parasense, Penta, Phyx, Sub 6, Highko, hydrophonic, Comercial hippies, Freq, Alien Project, Star-X, Space Budha, Atmos, Antidote, Eskimo, Dynamo, Weckred Machines, Atomic Pulse, Dimitri Nakov, Ultravoice, D-tek, Exaile, Skazi, CPU, Psycho micro, Paranormal Attack, Biotonic, Mekkanikka, Protoculture, Silver Surfers, S.U.N. GUI’s passion for psytrance logically directed him to write his own music. He did so through the recent creation of his project Junkie Smokers, and in 2007 he opened his own dj´s agency called "ACTION REACTION"!
