Biography

Jeroen (Dj Jibaro) is originally from Cape Town, South Africa. It was here in the summer of 1997 where he fell in love with the music and the scene. After going to numerous big outdoor parties he decided he wanted to do more with music than just party.

After moving to The Netherlands in March 2000 he started dj'ing. In January 2002 playing a Boom! party in Amsterdam he met well known Dj Junya(Eskimo), son of legend John Phantasm, who was impressed by his mixing skills and choice of music. After visiting Junya in the summer of 2003 in England he was given the opportunity to become label Dj for this legendary UK based label, Phantasm Records. Since then he has further developed his Dj’ing skills and selects only the best and unique tracks for his sets. His style changes depending on what time he plays but he always chooses to incorporate a wide variety of styles in his sets, loving funky electro breaks and massive build-ups.

For the last six years he has been playing all over Europe, both in clubs and at outdoor festivals such as the Fullmoon Festival 2008 in Germany and Heron Festival 2007, 2008 in Belgium. He has also played in countries such as: The Netherlands, Italy, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain and France.

Over the years he has been fortunate enough to play alongside some of the most respected names in the psytrance scene like: Eskimo, Juno Reactor, C.P.U, Talamasca, Alternative Control, Cosmosis, Etnica, Absolum, Transwave, Deedrah, Shanti, Bizarre Contact, Protoculture, Space Buddha, Xerox & Illumination, Cyrus the Virus, Mekkanikka, John Phantasm, Kristian, Rinkadink, Massive, Rastaliens, Fractal Glider, Barak, Bishop, Daksinamurti to name but a few.

2007 was a very exciting year for him as he had the opportunity to release his first compilation on Phantasm Records. This compilation promised to be packed with absolute class-A tracks from some of the most established artists in the scene today, as well as some very talented new comers. Since 2007 he has also had the opportunity to join another top class label namely Nutek Records based in Amsterdam.

Currently he is very active in both labels as dj and as web designer. He has recently designed & built new websites for both labels and currently also manages these websites.
