Biography
Roy Engel (a.k.a Painkiller) started his musical career at a young age studying music, playing piano and later on beating the drums experiencing rock’n roll adventures. With the rise of electronic music in the 90s he got really inspired and started to develop electronic beats. Along the years Roy experienced different styles of electronic music and collaborated with many artists and friends around the world. Painkiller’s tracks provide sharp edition of computer technologies, tight mixing, dynamic grooves and fat bass lines. You can recognize musical elements connecting the trance music of today with instrumental and classic music from different times such as Opera, Flamenco, Rock and more....Painkiller’s first studio album “Brainwash” (January 2007) including dance floor smashers such as Flam & Co, Hard Floor, Don’t Tell Ma (vs. Bliss) and more.The second studio album “License to Heal” was released a year later (Sept 2008) with new tracks and collaborations. The third studio album “Duty Freak” (November 2010) including 9 Pure Painkiller’s with warm sound, important build-ups, some Flamenco touches and solid dancefloor beats! The 4rth album "Painkiller & Friends" (Dec 2011) including collaboration track with good friends from around the world and 2 remixes to well known tracks. the latest Painkiller release was on EP format "The Loop" (Oct 2012) providing ultimate hi-tech dance floor Beats, tracks with Punchline, Azax Syndrom and Alienn.
A new ep coming up, this time Painkiller vs Freeze under the title "Sunscreen" ...
Painkiller is working simultaneously on another project together with Bliss, known as A-Team. they have released a double album (fast forward), a single album (145 street), compilation (as hard as it gets) and the latest release on EP format (Piranha).
